i bought a 71 jimmy for parts but it has a better body than my 69 so,i thought i might do a body switch between the two.i've noticed a couple of differences in them.one is inner heater/air box the 69 has a metal one and the 71 is plastic.can the metal one be used in place of the plastic one?the second thing i noticed is the accelerator pedals are different-can i use the 69 type in the 71?sould i even worry about the differences.no one outside this board,or wes's would probably be able to tell the difference.any help will be appreciated.

as long as both are A/C or non A/C then it should be fine, ther body itself is close enough, although minor things like door frame vents and accelerator cable exist on the 71 unlike the 69,

Fast,thanks for the help.this may be a dumb question but what are door frame vents?are they on the door or door pillar?i'll have to look tomorrow but i don't think either one of them has a vent on them.can i get rid of the 71's cable and use the 69's accelerator rod in the 71 body?also,does the 71 chassis service and overhaul manual you have for sale cover blazers?if they do i'm interested in them e-mail me.thanks,buckshot.

To use the gas pedal from the '69 in the '71 body, you'll have to remove the studs and the stud bracket that hold the gas pedal to the floor in the '69. Then drill holes in the floor of the '71, stick the studs through the floor and into the stud bracket. Shouldn't be too hard, but is it worth the effort?
