Drop spindle question

I have a 86 swb that has 1.25 coils cut out of the front and a leaf taken out of the back. She is lower than stock, but I want to go lower. I have 8inch ralleys and wanted to know if 2inch drop spindles will clear the wheels. On my brothers 71 we put on 3 inch spindles with van wheels and had to grind the arms down. I also want to add 2 inch shackles.

I have 2" springs, and 2.5" spindles. Mine clear fine.

Re: Drop spindle question

The spindles will clear the wheels no problem. You may have problems with the wheel rubbing on the lower control arm.

about what size wheels are needed so you don't have to grind anything down? just curious...

Not too sure. I have read a few other posts on the site about rubbing on the lower control arms with stock 15's. I put on 17's and have no issues with rub. You can always trim the arm if needed. It's a very small section that rubs.
