Rostra Cruise Problems

Hi all. I am installing a CC module on my 82 k20 with a 1999 Vortec 454 and 4l80e. It will not work at all. Pulling my hair out. I have ran through the diagnostic on the module and it passes every test. I have it set for 4k ppm. The model number of mine is 59D-05253. Please help! Thanks.

I do not have a Rostra but I have been reading up on them because I would like to install one with my electronic speedo and gps sensor. Where did you derive the the 4000 ppm from, is that just standard?

I read online that the 99’s used a 4000ppm vss.

I've emailed them before and found them to be very responsive and helpful.

As with all electronic devices you might just have a lousy unit right from the factory, despite the diagnostics. If that's the case, best to find out now.

Well i got it working, your question on pulse count made me dig deeper. Turns out that vss i have cranks out way more than just 4,000 ppm. I calculated it out and determined that I needed a different source. Luckily my Howell efi harness and ecu has a speedo output, which is a conditioned square wave DC 4000ppm. Hooked up to that, set dip switches on the cc unit accordingly, and imagine that, works just fine now.

Re: Rostra Cruise Problems

That's great! Very satisfying to solve any kind of electrical or programming problem.
