71 c2500 centerlink

Good afternoon all,

I have a 71 c2500 camper that I'm playing around with. When I got it the center link had been cut off at the gear box end.. so its pretty much useless.

I plan doing some type of front disk swap but not sure which way to go yet. I was looking at the 8 lug disk kit from CPP. My question is can I take everything from outer tie rod to outer tie rod, including the steering box from a 73+ c20 truck? I would just rebuild the control arms I have and swap in the newer ball joint.

Could I take center link and stuff from a 72 c10?

And yes I want to keep 8 lug, trying to build a type of tow rig.

Thanks all.

1971 C20 should already have front disc brakes. First year for them.

1973-UP entire front suspension does fit the older trucks. I believe you have to elongate or drill a couple of holes in the frame, but it goes in.

20 and 30 series use larger diameter center links, so the 10 series unit is not recommended.

Interesting? was told it was a 71. its just a frame that I'm building to swap under a different truck. Might be a 70 then. Thanks for the info, new to the c20 game.

1967-70 was drum brake. Also, all of the steering joints were smaller than 1971-up.

This was my experience, some of it might help you in sourcing parts.
