Alternator conversion?

How to convert to inturnal form xturnal vr? To say a mid 70's early 80's alternator.I guess a "SI". Part number would be helpful and a plus...Thanks

I used the alternator from an 85 blazer. I also used the mounts from the blazer, which puts it on the passenger side. With that, I used a painless wiring harness. If you go to the painless site, I believe you can download a schmatic. There is a diode that needs to be installed in the wiring, or the truck wont shut off. You can get the diodes from radio shack.

I'm sure there is many ways to do it, but thats how I did.
