tilt column help please

I have 2 tilt columns. one from a 71 sub. which does not have a neutral safety switch @ a column from a van that has the switch mounted about half way up the column,18" from the collar and I think it will be in the way of mounting it to the dash. I want to mount this in my 68 gmc. another problem is the hazard switch is broke inside the column from the 71 sub. is that hard to get that plastic piece out @ replace the switch? also, where is the n. safety switch if not mounted on the column?I appreciate any help on this matter,Philip

Re: tilt column help please

Some TH400 had the switch mounted on the trans. It is pretty rare & was expensive back then. It had a little rod that hooked to the shift linkage. The switch is not hard to put in.
