billet carrier bearing How Good?

Hey Guys, just wondering how many of you use the billet carrier bearing and how you like it, since it has the poly bushing in it is there more vibration than the rubber bushing , just trying to get some info on this, tired of putting a bearing in every year. Thanks In advance for the info

I put one on my 70 LWB. At first, it seemed Ok but developed a roar at around
60-70 MPH. The problem was that there was no flex to compensate for up and
down movement of the differential. The old soft rubber center bearing allowed
for some back and forth movement into the transmission tail shaft. I had a drive-
shaft fabricated that has a slide shaft in the rear section. This cured the roar
and also some vibration that I suspected was in the drive shaft.

I found a guy on E-bay that makes the drive shafts. He has a store front site and
supposedly travels to a lot of shows in the West. I sent him the measurement
and about a week later received the drive shaft. I think the price was around
$150. It has been awhile back so do not hold me to that. I am sure that I have
the receipts here somewhere and will look them up if you want. The new shaft
fit perfectly and is well balanced.

After driving the truck for over 30 years and several of the OEM type bearings,
I consider it to be an improvement and would do it again.

I was going with one also but at the time couldn't afford it. I have a good rubber one that is going on 5 years now. I had the drive shaft balanced and put together by a local place called Clines in Greenville SC. They know there stuff.
