Dumb question of the month
Can I remove my tie-rod adjustment sleeves with removing my outer tie-rod ends? I thought if I loosened then turned them one direction enough a side could come off then I could turn it the other way and get it all the way off. Is this possible?

Lol - well my outer tie rod ends are new but the old were a b*tch to get off. The new ones would not be too bad I would think but my adjustment sleeves turn pretty easy which is why I want new ones. That is after putting grade 8 bolts and nuts on them, you can still turn one by hand so....

may be able to take the tie rod out of the sleeve get the clamping part of the sleeve red hot then cool it. To shrink the metal. It will either work or be brittle and break.....

Not too difficult to remove the tie rods and do it in a vice on the workbench. I'd recommend this rather than messing with trying to turn the adjuster all the way. Besides, doing it on the bench allows you to be more careful about marking original positions so that alignment is easier later on.
