350 SBC Just Painted

Just wanted to share some photos of my buddies engine been putting this engine together for sometime now and he finally had the painter come out and paint this thing. I must say very nice paint job and this thing looks wet but these were taken 3 days after when the engine was dry.

More goodies will be added but we did a complete overall of the internals Oil Pump, Timing Chain, All Gaskets, Freeze Plugs, Head Bolts, Roller Rockers, Push Rods, Lifters. The engine remains to stock specs, and this is a 90's SBC coming out of a Chevy Suburban 1993 5.7 liter TBI-Note also re-valved Heads and did a 3ANGLE VALVE JOB.

You may have had good experience with that type timing chain cover, but it looks just like mine. Is it the aluminum/chrome plated one? If it is you will need to scrape the chrome off of the lip where the oil pan goes over it to get the gasket to seal. You may have already done it....just trying to save someone the same trouble I had after I got my new motor in and running. The engine looks amazing!

A little rust never hurt anyone. I consider it weight reduction.

Re: 350 SBC Just Painted

Hey! Yes its alminum and chrome and yea thats what I figured after I bolted it on I will be scrapeing that off before anything else. Thanks for the info! Yeah the color is a BMW blue not sure what the name of it is.

The plan is to remove that oil pan and put a Billet Aluminum one in place of that also going with All chrome plated brackets pulleys and Chrome Polish Intake. From what I heard Edelbrock does not make a Endurashine finish for the TBI Intakes. Is this true??? Also will be doing ceramic coated Shorty Headers. Thanks for the great replys! Will keep everyone updated!
