Wow
I have a 72 with a double wall top... I was getting ready to pull the top to get painted and put all new seals when I realized I have too pull the roll bar out to get the side panels out... That's crazy every time I want too take the top off I have to pull the roll bar? This suxs

You can convert to a single wall. Just have to drill new holes in the bed. It does suck to have to all that work to remove it. Maybe consider a softop? They are easier to remove.

I went soft top 16 years ago and have never regretted it. At the time I sold my hard top for what it cost me to buy the soft top and have it installed, don't think you can do that now.
