HELP...Broken Intake Bolt

I was swapping Intakes and went to take old one off, put socket on the bolt, started taking loose and the head snapped off. I have about 1/4 inch of bolt sticking out. I tried vise grips and that didn't budge it. Any other ideas? Thanks

You could try some penatrating oil or try heating it up. If that don't work, Get a set of easy outs. You can buy just the particular size you need or buy a set. They are very handy.

PB Blaster!, that with a little heat should get it moving again.
There haven't been to many GM's I haven't removed using that method. Mainly because the bolts that break are 1 of the 4 near the thermostat and seize from the coolant corrosion. PB will cut right through that type of corrosion. the heat will make it work a bit faster while expanding the head slightly.

basicly do what cableguy recommended and add heat. (just a small propane bottle will do)

I agree it is the best I get it at Wal Mart . May need to lay a nut over the bolt and weld it to it to turn it out . Ed ke6bnl So. Calif

EZ-outs

IF you get an easy out, and use it:
DON"T BREAK IT!!!
YOu think the bolts are tough to get out...
Ezouts become an oxymoron if you break them.
