Question Pontiac engine swap questions

I have a '69 3/4 ton GMC 2WD that the previous owner put a 400 Pontiac engine and 400 Turbo into.It has headers, which at this time are swiss cheese, and I was wondering if anyone knows what header might possibly fit this combo.Should I go with stock manifolds or try to find replacement headers.Need some ideas pretty quick, cause the local cops are starting to chisel away at my bank account!!!

Re: Pontiac engine swap questions

I cant say for sure on the Poncho, but I ran a set of A body(cutlass) headers on a 455 olds in my old truck, with a couple small trimmed spots on the frame. You might try a late 60's lemans/GTO header....best of luck, crazyAl

He doesn't say exactly in his writeup, but i'm ASSuming Summit headers for 2nd gen firebird. i know you should never ASSume anything, but what are you going to do? Actually, if you think about it, they, the firebird headers, should work.

I went with a set of Hedman swept back shorty headers on my Pontiac since my '63 truck is pretty low and I wanted to run a 3-inch diameter exhaust on the outside of the frame rails, but you can run the exhaust on this inside of the frame rails just as easily with smaller exhaust tubing. I think uncoated, they are new for around $280.
