inner rocker install question

I'm getting for the first time to install inner/outer rocker panels on my 67. If I don't plan on unbolting the cab from the frame, do I need to weld in any temporary bracing? It is just the inner rocker and not much of the floor will be cut at all. Also what should I use to coat the inner before I install the outer? Thanks for the help.
