odd blazer seat pics

Here are some pics of the middle seat in my Blazer. I've seen in factory sales flyers where a seat such as this was an option. My uncle must have been one of the few people who opted for this seat versus a console.

VERY few.

That's a first for me... and I've been wanting a bench up front for a long time. I never guessed a split bench in '72 was an option. A real nice piece 'o' work! I'd hang on to that (the upholstery seems good too, will wonders never cease?!).

Interesting, I wonder if it is a dealer or factory option, does it mention anything on the glovebox sticker.

Ahh, I just checked the red book, it lists a bunch of different seat options but this one stood out

A78 Center seat

I can't think of anything other type of seat set up in pick ups or burbs that would have a need for a center seat.

Interesting seats. Does the center fold down?

Where did you get "the red book"

Most of the vendors sell them or if your local book store is big enough they will have it or can order it in. The author is Peter Sessler.

The seat is stationary and there is no storage space underneath it like there is in some trucks with a center seat. I did ask my uncle about it, and he said all he remembers is it had that seat when he bought it. I would assume it was a dealer installed option.

It looks like the truck is in great shape. Post some more pictures when you get a chance.
