ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

Like the title says, i'm looking for someone to set my odometer back to zero. I tried on an old one that i have, and i got it reset but it goes one mile and stops turning. Before i mess up another one, I'd like to have someone that knows what they're doing handle it for me. I'll obviously pay shipping back and forth and pay for the time to work on it. Thanks.

Re: ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

just an early morning thought......you could spin it ahead or back with a drill motor. our Chevy dealer here in the '70s almost went to jail for that "trick" back in the day.

Re: ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

Spin it ahead to zero it out. I wonder how long it would take to do though? Mileage on our old trucks is pretty much irrelevant anyways with the 5 digit reading. My 78 c10 shows 01825 km. pretty sure it's over 200,000km anyways. Might be just over 700,000 km you never know hahaha.

I tried that already, not a chance. Maybe i have a slow drill, but it takes about one minute per mile, and my odometer is at 22k. That equals out to around 54 days of drill spinning. The odometer is made not to roll backwards. I will try to get a hold of tll74. Thanks

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

Just check into (even google or such) the legalities of it in NY. I know when I lived there odometer tampering was not legal. However, I was under the impression that if the title states the reading exceeds mechanical limits they don't take the reading anymore. Wouldn't want to see you run into any issues.

Not sure how it is anymore, but use to be you could go to the Bald Hill cruise and talk to the clubs and folks around to get leads on stuff. Good luck, in your research.

NY State is no longer interested in the mileage of a vehicle once it reaches 10 years old. That was a little surprising to me, I thought it would be more like 15 or 20 years. I found that out when I bought a 92 wrangler earlier this year and the title stated so. Bald hill is about an hour from me, and I plan on going to the cruise nights once I get this wreck put back together.

Wink Re: ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

Here u go! I did these a couple of years ago when I was going to build another tach dash but never did. I ended up buying a whole new set of aftermarket gauges.
If you have a spare u can send it to me and I will reset it for postage.

Re: ISO - Someone to reset my odometer

Thanks so much, I will let you know. After looking at your pictures I'm going to give mine another shot. That piece on the bottom of the drum where all the tabs poke through is what I was doing wrong. If I can't get it right, ill send mine over to you.

Thanks again.
