1969 il6 power steering help

I picked up a 69 il6 truck last month. owner had the brackets and pump to convert it to p/s. I have searched the threads and still don't know if I have the correct brackets. the ones I see posted look different then the ones I have. I cant seem to find a diagram of how they are assembled and mounted on the engine. the motor has the 2 groove pulleys and a bracket mounted to the head. I know I can use a pre 87 steering box, pitman arm and rag joint. I also assume you use the hoses made for a 69 il 6 with power steering. can anyone please verify the brackets I have are correct and if someone could post a pic of the assembly manual showing the correct mounting. thanks for any and all help.

What displacement L6? 230, 250 or 292?

It seems like every time this subject comes up and people post pictures of their brackets there are differences in all of them. As far as how they mount there are quite a few threads as you know, and they show some different mounting brackets and how they mount.... You will just have to pick out one that is similar to yours and try it.

The 250 is a lot easier to rig P/S on than the 292. They didn't produce many of the big L6s with upgrade accessories like P/S, PB, AC. Most 292s were in bigger trucks -- dump trucks, school busses, UPS vans and lighter work trucks without frills.

I will try to post a picture of mine, it looks like you may have the right brackets.

It looks like your alternator in mounted up high. It should be mounted down below by the top of oil pan.
