spring pad hole gone oval on me - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was working on the truck and noticed the one spring pad perch had gone oval on me from loose u bolts,was wondering if anyone had some ideas to fix it.I don,t know if putting some weld in there would work or either make a new plate and weld that on but how thick should it be

Either weld the hole up and redrill or replace the spring perch.
