Vortec heads need quick answer please
I FOUND A SET OF Chevy Truck 305 rebuilt cylinder heads WILL THEY WORK ON A 1977 CHEVY 350 OR DO I NEED 350 HEADS DOES ANYONE KNOW

Look for some 350 heads, The combustion chamber on 305 heads are to small. Im sure some of the vortec head gurus will chime in.

They will work but it will raise your compression depending on the cc of the heads.. From what i hear you got good torque but no top end but they will work

305 heads are 58cc vs. 64c or 76cc for most GEN I heads. This means your CR would increase by .6 - 1.2 points depending on the piston.
They're generally lousy heads for performance - small valves, poor flow. I'd pass. |
