The time has come to order drop front spindles and 6 lug disc kit for my 70.

All of you with 6 lug discs please chime in...

What brand, where did you order from?

Did they fit and come with all parts needed?

How much did you pay?

Any problems or things you don't like about them?

I've always used Early Classics, but looks like several places are MUCH cheaper, so that's why I'm asking here.

I appreciate any input,

I bought my McGaughy's kit from Tim Christian.
The kit came with everything I needed to install them. Everything fit. It was actually easier to install the new spindles than it was to put the stock drum spindles in when I changed the ball joints about 6 months ago. I paid $560 or so with an adjustable proportioning valve and shipping. I don't know of any problems yet, then again I just intalled the kit yesterday.

Hey TX I got the same kit from GMCPauls a year or so ago. It was a good kit price I dont remember but it is on his site but either of these guys (Tim or Paul) will get you fixed up. I bought the upper and lower ball joints locally. I bought 2 1/2 drop spindles stock front springs and 4 inch drop springs rear.

Not to be disrespectful toward board members who are in the business of selling parts for our trucks.

I ordered the 2.5-inch lowered spindles, complete disc brake conversion kit (rotors/calipers/master cylinder/prop valve/hoses/etc), the front stabilizer re-positioning kit, rear adjustable track bar, all 4 shocks, stock height front springs, 4-inch lowering rear springs, rear shock relocator kit....seems like I spent about $1500 for everything. The shipment came in 4 cartons. They shipped stock height spindles, but I caught the error and upon notification, they immediately shipped the correct spindles and asked UPS to pick up the incorrect ones.

When I had a question about the front track causing the outside of the front tires to extend to the edge of the fenders, Dave Clark (the owner of ECE) took the time to work with me on resolving the problem. I had a set of 8-inch wide wheels which were offset to the outside. When you convert to discs, from drums, you add about an inch to the front track. I changed the front wheels to a 15x7, and have had no more problems.

I also went completely through my front end, replacing ball joints, upper and lower control arm shafts and bushings, tie rod ends, idler and pitman arms. Center link was good.

With the $300 I paid my cousin for his labor, buying two new tires for the 7-inch wide wheels, and the alignment (to factory specs), I spent a little less than $2000. The ride and drive is great!

I am sure others stuff will do as well. I can only comment on ECE and what my truck does.

I put the Early Classic stock height six lug kit on my truck and love it. All components were high quality and everything I needed came with the kit.

I also went with the early classics 2.5 drop conversion, very nice quality parts and even a good quality master cylinder and brake booster, the only thing i found when I lowered the front, it's harder to turn the truck around, just gotta take my time now

I can tell you Church is a vendor for ECE and can probably sell you the stuff cheaper than ECE. Contact him, he's a board member and great to deal with.
