help with temp light

just getting her back on the road....

new temp light sending unit in pass head of sbc.

the temp light comes on REALY DIM after a few minutes of running....


truck runs fine and doesnt appear to be hot (I can grab the rad hoses briefly, but i need to get the infarred gun out)


ideas?

is the one hooked up on the drivers side? That's the one for the guage. The one on the passenger is for the smog equipment that controls the spark advance.

guess i shoulda provided more info... Ima DUH ME!
its a '67 as bare as it got with a 283.
i put a 350 in it.
sender is on the pass side. pretty sure that is where it was on 283 but there was only one. it has no smog equip.
i bought a new idiot light sending unit when i installed the 350. maybe its bad?

Could you have gotten a sending unit for a gauge instead of a light?

hmmm... i guess i assumed that the gauge would have 2 wire prongs... i will definately look into that.
