Not "horny" anymore ;(

Well 1 out of my 2 Horns went South last year. The 2nd one gave up the Ghost yesterday. Is there "Replacement" Horns for our 67-72 Trucks that are Louder in Decibles that you can get?
I'm not talking Aftermarket or Air, or Train Horns.
Just a simple Bolt in Replsacement that's Louder?
Just thought I'd ask before I pony up for a new pair of OEM Horns.

Re: Not "horny" anymore ;(

I picked up a replacement at Kragen. It's a little louder then the stock horn that was in the truck and bolted right up.

What about late model full-size GM horns from a junkyard? Should be loud enough + have the right sound.

Re: Not "horny" anymore ;(

a couple things to check b4 dumping the originals fist the mount is very impotant to have clean shiny metal on metal contact as that is your ground/ second a liberal spraying of wd40 up into the airhornarea of the horn to lubricate and clean the vibrating diaphram aid in horn working properly

the ol school way to luod horns at cheap price is to try and find older 6volt horns they work loud and grweat will last a long time for short bursts
