c10 to a k20

Hello forum. I have a question that I am sure you all can help with and I am sure someone has already done. I have a very nice 1968 c10 long bed body that I would like to convert to a kseries truck. I have not had any luck finding a cheap chassis only 68-72 k series 1/2 or 3/4 ton so I have began looking for a square body truck for a donor which is much easier and cheap to locate. I know of a 1978 k20 longbed that the body is junk on but the running gear is good. Has anyone else taken on the challenge of transferring a 68-72 body over onto a mid to late 70's k series truck or taken the diffs and transfer case and placing them under a c series truck chassis? Any help or input of the best way to achieve this would be really helpful.

Re: c10 to a k20

I know it requires moving the cab mounts on the chassis and it leaves a fairly large gap between the box and cab unless more mods are done to start with.. Seen it a few times on buddy's trucks, but been several years.
