Re: "actual Factory Pick-up On A Blazer Body"

I have never heard of it before as being factory. This is what project Trazer will end up like but in a 2wd design (not factory but hacked and glued back together in my shop ) So stay tuned and you to can learn how to build a rare factory pich up blazer

Never came that way from GM but a fairly common customization. some customed the SWB truck and some Customed the Blazer with a truck cab section and truck doors.

THIS IS A VERY RARE BLAZER HALF-CAB PICK UP. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING ONLINE FOR OVER 5 MONTHS AND HAVE ONLY FOUND A COUPLE OF THEM. ONE IS IN A MUSEUM. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ABOUT IT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE THEM FOR THE PUBLIC BUT DID FOR THE MILITARY AND THE RAILROAD. I TRIED TO GET MORE INFO ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE BUT THE PAPER IS MISSING ON THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. ANYWAY. THIS IS A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WITH A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY IN IT WITH A TWO BARREL. I'M NOT SURE IF THE ENGINE IS THE ORRIGINAL. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC AND RUNS AND SHIFTS WELL. I JUST PICKED IT UP FROM THE BODY SHOP TODAY AND I WAS GOING TO FINISH BUT DECIDED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS ON E-BAY FIRST. THE BODY IS ABOUT 95% FINISHED AND I HAVE PRETTY MUCH ALL THE PARTS THAT ARE MISSING IN THE PICTURES. I WAS GOING TO PUT ON AND IN NEW ONES IF I KEEP IT. THE RESERVE IS LOW FOR THE VEHICLE BEING IN AS GOOD OF SHAPE THAT IT IS AND WITH THE RAREITY OF IT. THIS IS NOT A REMOVABLE TOP IT IS A ACTUAL FACTORY PICK-UP ON A BLAZER BODY. THIS WOULD MAKE ONE KILLER STREET-ROD WHICH I WILL DO IF I KEEP IT.

Re: "actual Factory Pick-up On A Blazer Body"

I'm with Wes on this one.

There are a bunch of these conversions running around. Someone welds a truck top and cab back into a blazer to customize it. There was one guy on the board a few years back who had a buddy that made these. He had apparently done it to 4-5. I've never heard of them being factory or produced by an outside company. I believe the half-cab you are talking about is the removable half top. I don't believe those were factory either, but an aftermarket product that may have been sold by or through dealers.

If it's the same Blazer I'm thinking of, I remember you could see the bondo cracking on the cab pillars where they put the half cab on.

Re: "actual Factory Pick-up On A Blazer Body"

It would have cost GM hundreds of thousands of dollars to re tool --stock parts etc. to create such a low volumn one off like this. They typically would sell their truck to a aftermarket company to modify for special applications ie lumber, rail, military, etc. And yes there was a member with a friend out west --who did several custom's like this. Looking close, this is not a half top as it is using truck doors so I suspect a truck cab mounted on a blazer body/frame?! There was a movie back a few years ago where they used something like this with a plow on the front.

Re: "actual Factory Pick-up On A Blazer Body"

may i ask why? i think this fugly!!!!!!!!! if you want a truck get a truck if you want a blazer get a blazer there is no need for this if you think you need this buy two trucks lol everybody seems to have more than one here anyway what do you think

p.s. the bed cant even be 6 feet and ever time you haul something you have to worry about the back of the cab

I own a pacesetter half-cab. It's a bolt on fiberglass half-top.

No one said it doesn`t exist or that that isn`t a real picture on Ebay.Alot of people don`t know what they`re talking about, yet try to sound like they do.I`ve never gotten that kind of behavior. They usual need to shut up and listen so they actually can learn. But,this guy has fabricated a false story.Call`um liars`round here.I think these conversions are perfect for someone who needs to be couped-up and hates the feeling of open-air driving.
I had thought about building a purpose-built snow plow rig from a Blazer with a 1/2 cab for better heat, visibility, and manuverability.Plow in front/spreader on back/chemicals in bed. Can`t think of any other use.

I agree, but what are show/concept cars, but one off thousands of dollar vehicles. Don't get me wrong, I do not think it is factory, but never say never!! As for the movie about the trazer plow, it was a chick flick (the wife watched it and I noticed the trazer, but nothing else!!)

Re: "actual Factory Pick-up On A Blazer Body"

There was a Blazer with a half cab used for plowing in the movie "Beautiful Girls. Matt Dillion drove it. I don't believe it was a trazer though. I think it was a half-cab top (like 2wd Blazer has).

Ya pretty much summarized the whole movie. I think there was some sappy dialog, but that wasn't important.

Yea, that was the movie--I remember the funny truck/blazer and the one hot chick! Funny how certain things stay in your memory while the note your wife gave you to get things from the store just got lost somewhere!hehehe
