Post Mounts?

Alright here's my thing. Sometimes when i shift into a gear the tranny will kick, like a nice clunk. Doesnt do it all the time but when it does you hear it. I checked the motor mounts. put in D, held brake, gave gas, motor moves to right. in reverse its the opposite (i might have the side it leans to a li'l messed but i dunno).
Is this normal or are my engine mounts bad? or possibly my tranny mounts? it doesnt shift hard AT all, it's really smooth going through all the gears and only clunks when i go into d or into r or whatever on occasion.
Thanks.

Yes, first thing I thought of too (U-joint).
Do you get any vibration on the highway?

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.

I had a similar problem. Tranny would pop out of gear at a quick start. It was the motor mounts. In drive brake on I give it a little gas and the motor would jump up on the driver side.

I replaced both motor mounts TODAY with the motor still in the truck. I hope to never replace those again it was a *****(5 hours)the A/c really gets in the way. I could not line up all the bolt holes correctly. Anyway no more poppin out of gear and motor only moves the normal amount when I give it gas.
