I have this radio in my truck and it has no speaker in the dash ,, I have run wires from the radio to behind the seat and want some opinions of a good speaker to install there,, I do not want a big BOOM BOOM ! ,,,,just one that is made to fit benind the seat ,, and good listening too. What have you that you like that fits what I want?

Re: What should I get ?

I have a pair of Pioneer 6 x 9s in each corner of my '71 4x4 which sound good. No in cab tank as moved it behind the rear axle years ago. A board member here offered custom corner mounts at the time and believe he also makes custom corner mounts for the square body trucks also. A search for custom corner mount speakers should bring up past postings for them. Good luck in your search.

Thx.. I will read up on then and see it they fit behind my seat in the corners for size ,,as the corners would be a better place for the sound to get our I suppose.

They've gotten a little more expensive since last time I looked. But like Ironhorse said, some 6x9's will give you a great all around sound. I will be doing the same in my truck as the tank is also moved to the rear.

In highschool I had some small boxes I made that held some 5x7's or 4x6's I found in the open box section at Circuit City for 25 bucks worked good enough then but they'd flop around and get lost under the seat from time to time.

*edit* just realized you're a square body. My shop teacher was big audio head. His square body he built a custom wooden enclosure behind the seat for one sub and some 6x9s, that thing would hit hard! You could pull up playing the into to hot for teacher and more than one person would mistake you for having a really lumpy cam.

Re: What should I get ?

I bought my speaker mounts from member "bigblock73" aka Jeff. At the time he was making them for 67-72 and 73-87 squares. Have not seen him on the board for some time, maybe no longer active? I was very satisfied with them when I purchased. Never heard of the "tinworksfabrication" but look very similar to the ones I bought from Jeff. And as mentioned, a bit higher in $$ but what isn't now days?
