Found it!

I knew I had a workbench in my shop, but I couldn't find it for all the stuff I have been piling on it for the last year while doing the rebuild of the 81 engine. It was soooo covered in crud the top was pure black crude color. After couple days work cleaning shop, I found it. I wish I had a picture of what it looked like when I started, but I am sure a few of you got an idea. Found a lot of tools, bolts and other stuff that moved from where I could easily find it to on the bench somewhere.

Wonder how long before it become cluttered and lost again?

Re: Found it!

That's an accomplishment and a great feeling. I'm currently building an 8x15 shed so I can organize my garage and get back to work on the Blazer.

Re: Found it!

I have been going thru the shop as well. It is amazing what gets covered over and whatnot. I am finding stuff I have not seen in years and have already bought replacements due to the gremlins not putting it back quick enough

Re: Found it!

It happens to all of us Bill. I am happy to find 1/2 of my work bench. It once was 12' long. It still is but with all the things I have no other place for on top of it I only have 4 or 5' of usable bench top work space left.

Re: Found it!

Nice and clean and organized. It will stay that way, in my own experience, for a short time.

Re: Found it!

oh man, that is jealousy inspiring. usually my tools stay where I used them last until I get tired of retracing my last tasks and put them all away temporarily.

a pristine shop is one never worked in (or has a cleaning crew)
