I would like to convert my 67' C-10 from manual to power steering and have a few questions. First, will a power steering box from a 69-76 chevy work? If not, what year will work? When looking at the front end rebuild kits from ECE I noticed a reduced price for the power steering kit, what components are different? Thanks to all for the help.

You need a pump with pulley, belt, steering box with pitman arm and the 2 hoses. You also may have to cut a notch out of your front bumper bracket to fit the box properly, it's common practice.

Thanks Dubie, will the pitman arm off a 1971 C-10 work with the steering box from the 73-76 and will this box line up with the existing hole in the frame

I think so. I know a fellow who put power steering on a 68 GMC with a 250 inline 6 and a 4 speed truck tranny. He took all of the parts off of a 73 pickup and had no problems that I am aware of.

to add you may need to change your Main pulleys (fan/crank) to get grooves right and a lined

I'm putting power steering on my c/10 right now too, along with
"a few other" improvements. Doing it on a inline 6, though (just
assumed yours was an 8).

Also to add, what I've been told is the pump from a
73-78 will fit (non-metric line fittings). Also was told it's a faster turn
ratio than the ps gear from 67-72's. I got one from a 77 and hope
to be fitting it to the frame this weekend. Was told to get the pitman
arm from the 73-78. Different spline pattern (i'm guessing)?

There might be some issues when lowering, that unfortunately, I don't know about.

I think the frame on a 67 is not the same as 68-72,were the gear box bolts onto the frame there is an indentation for the gear box,on a 67 there is not an indentation.
