'56 shaggin' wagon

Well, here is what has been keeping me from making any truck progress lately. In the past couple months I got it running (new cam and lifters), got all the lights working, new brakes, replaced the 3-on-the-tree with a 4-speed, installed a power brake booster/MC with new front brake lines, 2" drop spindles with cut coils up front, 2" lowering blocks in the rear, installed a poly front end kit, and some other miscellaneous parts. I've got new tires ready to install but am waiting on my new wheels (stock type 15" steelies). The wheels and tires that are on it now I borrowed from my '57. I'm having the exhaust redone and getting a front end alignment this week. I'm driving it to the Goodguys-KC show this coming weekend, so I've been rushing to get everything done before then.

Here's how it looked when I got it....... sitting WAY too high.......

Don't know why, but I have always preferred the '56 cars to the '55s or '57s.

Fantastic job ! Great taste BTW.

I'd like to find something like that for my son. I tried the truck route and he isn't wanting one. That is very sweet!

looks great.I think that as many of those wagons and 4 doors as has been parted out to restore the 2 doors, they may actually be harder to find than the 2 doors.Very clean car.

Not in the budget. I'm trying to keep it as a low budget beater. I may add some bags in the rear for added payload capacity, but a static drop will do for now.
