I had to help the aunt clear out a tree.............I'm using her garage so it's not like I can stand by and watch her struggle. So i had to give up a couple of hours to her

I got the floor support in, the kick panel in, the floor tac welded in.

I'll have it done by the middle of this week but it was a productive weekend and after seeing the floor in there I was happy.

I finally got all the bugs out on the engine. Purrs like a kitten now! 20" of vaccum steady!

Discovered a crack in the top rad outlet

Installed the Z bar and fabbed the adjuster rod. Clutch works well!

Picked up a flapper wheel for the grinder and tried it out a little. I highly recommend these to EVERYONE doing metal work WOW!

Sat and revved the engine in the shop for an inordinate amount of time!

I cleaned up the yard and trucks and got all my truck part's sorted and put in boxes with labels on them so I can get my azz in gear and get all these parts I have been hoarding installed...

Worked, my next day off is next Sunday, then it's back to work Monday. Oh well, somebody's gotta pay the bills.

Didn't get the Blazer out of the garage yet... Finished the truck- put RH front side together, bled the brakes, tires ready to bolt on, but didn't get the carb on yet. Will definitely come out tomorrow after work. Note to self- no more truck projects for a while after this one. I am pretty worn out and wishing just 1 of my neighbors was a gearhead and could help turn a wrench. All of this work alone has really really tired me out. After I install the winch bumper, that's it for a while.

Bought a minivan... 05 Nissan Quest for the wife. I actually really like it. If I need a shot of testosterone and/or adrenaline, I just drive the old K5. I am secure enough in my manhood to accept it. Plus the wife and kids love it, so I am really happy.

Earlier in the week I received a nice chrome rear dress bumper from Early Classic Enterpises. It's to replace the old, white, pitted, faded tounge styler bumper. I then removed the frame attached receiver style hitch from the Blazer and installed both the hitch and the new bumper on the Cheyenne. It looks much better now.

Sunday was spent servicing and then working in the yard with my lawn tractor for the first cutting of the season. The allergies are kick'n it overtime this morning.

Gee Emm, your parts look great, how do you go about zinc plating your parts? Do you have some sort of setup at home or do you send them out to a service?

Hooked up the hoses on the radiator.
Installed the vacuum lines from the manifold to the transmission and power brakes.
Installed the proportioning valve for the rear disc brakes.
Worked on the throttle linkage and the kickdown linkage for the transmission.
Installed wiring loom on wires coming off of the electric fans.

Overall, a very productive Sunday!

Did them myself, I use the eastwood plating kit. I will be making a review post of the whole system in the next little while.

I reworked my hood latch (combination of powder coating, black oxide from Eastwood, and spray paint for yellow springs). I used a 3/8" clevis pin to replace the old pin.

I also welded on my radiator support, I still need to sandblast it. I used some new 16 gage metal and the corner from another support (don't worry it was hit on the drivers side....) Found out that I need a fire extinguisher in my garage... Don't ask

The black oxide worked great looks like I need to try the zinc process...

Hood latch looks great. I have to do same repair on my rad support, yours came out very nice.

71jimmy, hey, I'm no bodies welder... The surround is a 68 chevy but I'm going to jimmyize it for the 70 jimmy I have.

If I had to do it over I think I would have replaced more of it, welding will show you where the metal is thin by blowing a hole in there for you...
