33's, 4:10's, 4 speed, and a 427 BBC net me about 8-9 mpg...all the time, uphill, downhill, loaded, unloaded, trailer no trailer, wind no wind..etc.....if I stick my foot in it, I have to change my calculator to gallons to the mile. But hey...I didnt build the thing to be good on fuel...its the massive amounts of power that I love!! I got a murdercycle for mileage!

I used to get 18.5 in my Suburban with 4", 33's and a mildly built 350, and drove alot of highway miles. Now I got 35's, 6" lift, 4.10 gears, all sorts of added weight for offroad stuff, tools, parts, fluids, axle shafts...... and I get around 11 in town with a 350 that is now built a little more.

I get right at 12.5 mpg out of the K10. That's on the highway in the left lane with not much else getting around me. That's a 350 with an edelbrock performer intake, comp cams roller tip rockers, comp cams off road cam, flex a lite 295 electric fans and the AC blowing on high! The motor is backed up with a 3 speed manual and 3.08 gears in the diffs. Tires are 33x12.50 Mickey Thompson Claws mounted on Mickey Thompson Challenger forged rims. I think the aggressive tread is probably costing me some MPG but hell they look great when it's sitting still.

I got 11.25 last 4th of July weekend pulling a small tent trailer and 3 dirtbikes in the bed aprox 1000-1200#'s and my foot in it to see how good my hill power was. In town if I shift my truck at 2K and get it in 4th without getting into the go pedal at all I can get 12MPG. My truck has a 4 speed (M465) 4.10's 33X12.5's and a nice running 355 290-300HP 350-360 FT#'s of torque. I love to drive this truck but can't drive it much because everytime I turn around I am putting gas into it.

With all these oversized tires, did you guys recalibrate your speedometers, cause otherwise it will read slow and show you are getting less mpg than you actually are. I had mine recalibrated, it was off 15mph at 75mph, so I was showing 4/5th the distance I was actually going.

Wish I knew...my spedo is broke...when I got it the spedo was about 10-12 MPH off.

My '04 Big Block crew cab 4x4 is getting 10.5 city and 14 highway...which I'm very happy about.

Toroflow, are those tires 40" tall or taller? How much lift do you have?

12" lift (all spring in rear, no block) and 42" Swampers, duals in the rear, so the thing is stable as h*ll!!! Figure that to fit 15" wide rear tires the offsets on the rims (custom 16.5"x9.75"s) have to be pretty wild, thus making the track width wider in the rear (106"!! Whoops!! Sorry California Highway Patrol!!! ) This rigs also tows fantastic, as you don't even know anything is back there!! I tow an 8500 pound boat, and when I do tow the boat with one of my Suburbans, it pushes me around quite a bit. Not so with this dually. The 5.13 gears help also.

Gas mileage in my 4wds...they have that??Where can I get some? This builder has one of those new Datsun Titans that`s supposed to be a full-size truck(althuogh all I`ve seen are long cab/novelty bed with more space behind the axle than in front). He says he gets 15mpg.Don`t Full-size GMs get closer to twenty? And,you can haul more cargo than people and they make upfit equipment for them in case you want to use it as a truck.

Dont knock the Titan. My grandfather has one... the extended cab. He's got an 8 foot bed on it and it hauls better then my '70 402 GMC. It averages about 17 mpg no matter what you do to it. It's got an awsome 5 spd auto and a motor that wont quit.
