Question ignition

My truck will start, but will not turn off.My ignition switch has a chrome bezel .I spin that counter clockwise to try and remove the switch, but it wont come out . It seems like I'm missing some kind of catch or latch that is keeping it in . Any idea's.....Also is the switch bad or can I fix it .

Just use a big paper clip (not a small one, as it will bend), and push it firmly into the small hole that's at the top left of the switch, right next to where your key goes in. Then, with the key in the ignition, turn the switch to the left (counter clockwise), as far left as you can. After that, the tumbler should fall right out, then you can take the chrome ring off, and the switch will drop out.
