I looked at your pics and thought he's brave cutting that cab apart and then I looked at your occupation. Looks like your doing a wild job, I've had a couple with bad floors and rockers etc, lots of work but well worth it in the end. Oh yeh cool welder I have the exact same one they work wild, it's nice to see a welder picked that make.

I won't lie to ya bud,I'm real green at this kind of work so it's still a bit hairy at times.
I don't think a guy can go wrong with miller electrics.I got a real good deal on a miller 180SD (tig/stick) machine a little while back that isn't in the pics.I can't wait to get it wired in!
Was that truck of yours in the family or something?I can't believe you found one in that good of shape in Sask..How about rust? From those pics I can't see very much of it at all.

Re: Hello from Saskatchewan Canada

Nice truck. It looks like one that was for sale down in Regina that I tried to buy last year. It was advertised but turned out to be not for sale. Was that yours it did you talk the owner into selling?

Actually it probably is, my father in law rented some land off a guy in his seventys who still lived with his mom and only drove the truck to town once a week to get the mail. That was about 1990 and at that time the truck had 22000 miles, from that day on I wanted that truck, I had allready at that time had five different ones and was nuts about them. He let his oldest son use it as a extra vehicle and they are not car people, so they hauled furniture in it etc, made me cringe. When they got the truck it didn't have a scratch in the box, it now has handfull of minor fingertip dints so it made out okay. After that it was given to the younger son, who took good care of it but left it outside (the interior was also mint when they got it, not a mark) and now the seat and dash are cracked, but I bought a new dash and i'm replacing everything else new. He later got a cheap paint job done on it (the body had no rust). When they had there first child they needed a better second vehicle and traded it back to the father in law for his wife's car. The father in law intended to finish it (paint bumpers etc.) and use it for parades and driving grandchildren around but it ended up sitting in a shop for a couple of years. Suddenly one day out of the blue he phoned and asked if i wanted it, I was there as fast as i could get there, he said it was to good a truck for him to tinker with. I had finally just gotten started on my 1938 two door sedan, so I cancelled that project, and started on this. He said he would give me a price later and everytime I bring it up he says don't worry about it, but he's like that he just likes to see my son having fun working on it with me, he even bought him little chev coveralls. They bug each other about the chev ford thing because the father in law has a ford company truck and I'm a chev man. Sorry it's so long but I thought it was a neat story. P.S. know anyone looking for a 1938 two door sedan which also has a unique story? Picture of 38

As a matter of fact it was read my reply to sting ray that's the whole story. I'd love to have a tig but the mig was a big purchase wild to work with, i also have a new but cheap stick. The only rust was the kick panel by the emergency brake pedal (about 2" x 1/2") I think someone either washed out floor and didn't dry or left window open, at bottom of drip rail, and the back corners of fenders also very minor Never seen this before but I believe apoxy has a crack and moisture got in behind, not bad though just surface. I'll post more pics.
