What are the best Magazines

I am going to get a subscription to Classic Trucks. Does anyone know of another magazine that deals with our type of trucks in more detail, or more exclusively?

I like classic trucks but after a few issues they were beginning to be all the same, they only show high dollar trucks which is cool but I currently subscribe to car craft even tho i havn't seen a truck in it yet. Car craft is cool becuase it is "down to earth" the editors are always crackin on other cars and people. ITs funny and I find it more useful.

I think I got every copy,Bob Carpenter & Matt Emery does most of it. The how to's and features are all color. If you in to the 55-57, and 60's cars Chevy Rumble is great, Doug Marion does it. I think when it comes to Chevy writers Jeff Smith and Doug are hard to beat.

Classi Trucks is good, but as they said its mainly high dollar stuff, my favorite magazine is Petersons 4 wheel and off road, the guys who write it arent rich, they feature beaters and ton of garage built trucks all teh time, the issue called "junk yard buyers guide" is like idiots guide to truck parts, its about time to laminate mine because i use itso much, plus they love chevrolets

I have BAD new for you, boys... Petersen Publishing SOLD out to Primedia, LAST YEAR! In fact, one of the board members announced it on this board, months before it ever showed up on the newstands....he said he wife worked for Primedia and told him that they (Primedia) had bought Petersen.

So, the same people who put out Classic Trucks and Truckin, are now doing Sport Truck, Hot Rod, Rod and Custom, Motor Trend, etc.

Truck Builder (Buckaroo Communications) is ALL-COLOR! Their philosophy is that we see in color, so why shouldn't their magazines be printed in color. I agree. I've bought several issues from the newstand, but they're hard to find. Try Hastings, or WalMart. I've bought from both stores.

The magazine I miss the most is Chevy Truck, The ALL-CHEVROLET TRUCK MAGAZINE. Petersen did that one, but it didn't make the cut when they sold out. Pity. It was the BEST truck magazine for US! I am very protective of the copies that I have.

Street Trucks is another good magazine that you may want to try, although it caters to the later models. They do feature some nice older trucks, though.

There is a lot of reading that can be applied to our trucks, or any automotive interest, by Street Rodder, and a new one, Super Rod (also by Buckaroo).

When you look at Buckaroo's magazine list of who's who at their publishing facility, you'll see why they're gonna kick some butt. Jon Diana is "Lil Buckaroo". He's been around the hobby for years, as a racer and a contributor. Jeff Tann, Matt Emery, and Bob Carpenter all have a past with Custom Classic Trucks. Doug Marion is a super guy, who took time out of his busy day when he was editor of Super Chevy, just to talk to me on the phone about El Caminos. Thom Taylor and Chip Foose are both legendary...Thom for his artwork and designs and Chip for his ability to execute Thoms' designs in metal as finished artwork.
Steve Reyes photography is spot-on. So, it looks like they're going to give Primedia a run for their money, if we support them. Maybe, just maybe, Buckaroo Communications will consider an All-Chevy Truck Magazine format, especially when you consider their pedigree. Wouldn't it be nice?

Wow thanks for the link Tim. I just ordered 6 mos of Truck builder also.

Also I'd like to point out... If you go to truckbuilder site and check the price. They want 17.95 for 6mos vs the link Tim gave us which is uSubscribe.com and they have it for 14.99

Never hurts to save a bit of cash!
