Brakelines - Do I have everything?
I just went to Inline Tube and ordered my setup yesterday. I want to be sure I ordered everything I need. I am starting with my fresh chassis that has nothing on it brakeline wise.
I am restoring my 67 Chevy on a 72 rolling chassis. I ordered the following: 1972 Stainless Power Brake Line Set (11 pieces) 1 - rear hose Tee 1 - proportioning valve 1 - Stainless Flex brake hose set (3 pieces) 1 - proportioning valve bracket 1 - brake line clip package (24 pieces) Does this sound like EVERYTHING I'll need? They told me they do not carry a 'distribution block' that goes under the Master Cylinder. Do we need this on our trucks? I wil probably end up running a factory master cylinder. Any recomendations there? Should I buy from an auto parts store or Inline Tube? |

Try a hardware store or parts store. I think you will also need 2 couplings to conect the front crossmember lines to the long line to the rear and the long rear line to the line that goes to the rubber rear brake hose. I thought they would include these but they didn't and had to reuse my old ones. Like I said try a hardware or parts store for them. I hope this helps. |

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
usally if you are using a proportioning valve you don't need a distribution block because the prop valve is already separating front and back. Which on a drum brake truck thats all the distribution block did.

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
As some one stated you do need the block down on the front crossmember even though there is a Proportioning valve. Because the proportioning valve does not distribute to the left and right front wheels, for one thing. They are brass and unless crossthreaded should clean up nice and be reused.

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
Talk about service, Inline left a message here at work at 10:30AM Friday (the day after I ordered the parts) that they were ready for pickup.
I picked them up today, they look great Catch is I don't have a model to follow. I printed the images from this awesome post by 68Haywagon http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...11&postcount=5 Any other detailed pictures out there that may help me out with my installation? Thanks in advance

Do you have an LMC catalog? That's what I used to reinstall mine (and yes I'm being serious!)

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
I got the back two lines on, the junction block and the rear hose.
Not sure which way the main line goes from front to back. Up front is spaghetti What connects the left front line to the right front line to the line coming from the rear ?? Inline custom bent these lines, is it too much to at least label them with some type of diagram... I'll blow a call into them tomorrow |

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
Here are pics of the rear brakelines. Is it just me or does the rear axle junction sit a bit too high?
I know there should be some room for adjustment with new pre-bent lines, but this seems extreme. I told them I have a 1972 rear axle. There was a bracket for this junction on my '67 axle, but my '72 axle did not have one, is that normal? This setup will still work as there is plenty of room for the bed floor, but it seems too high to me. I am using the LMC catalog as a guide, but still have questions about the lines up front, what goes where. Does anyone have any detailed pics of brakelines for a 72 front disc power brake setup? |

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
I need pictures of how each end of the hardline that runs the length of the frame attaches. It looks like I need a pretty short 90 degree bend on the rear of that line to meet up with the soft line from the frame rail to the rear axle?

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
Thanks to Glock35ipsc for the great detailed pics of his brakelines
I found out my frame is a 1971! I took the lines back up to inline tube and showed them some pics of my rear setup. Turns out my rear brake hose goes from the Tfitting and meets the frame line on the passenger side and the frame line has a 90 degree bend in the back. The 1972 setup has a 2 piece hard line that runs length of the frame. I tweaked the rear axle lines a little and the T-fitting sits about an inch from the axle housing, I already have a bracket that will hold it in place nicely. My lines are in place, I only need to fasten them to the chassis. Inline tube puts out some great pieces! |

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
First of all, dont feel like the Lone Ranger. Ive got in excess of 350 digital photos of the disassymbly of my 72, wouldnt you know it, NO pictures of the brake line blocks. So here I sit with the exact same order from Inline Tube that you have, and Im scratching my head in the same fashion. If you want, I can see what I have on my computer at home tonight (Im at work now), and post you some better pictures of the rear end, I think I have that.

Re: Brakelines - Do I have everything?
Here are the pics of my brakelines.
I need to tweak the lines where they will meet up with the lines coming down from the master cylinder once I get the cab back on. I also need to install the clips, but you get the idea. And yes, I do have some touchup work to do on the finish of my frame Left side from the front view Right side from the front view Right side rear view Front crossmember Rear Hose to frame hard line rear end Tfitting
