And even in your home state to boot, that set had your name on them? Should've stepped it up a bit more, you know what they are worth and going for in worst shape, anymore $300. buddy seats are a thing of the past. I think the purchaser is a board member, maybe you will get another shot at them on the parts board. Better luck next time around, Cb

Re: missed out on buddy buckets...

I hit my max bid with 1 min 30 sec to go and had it until 7 seconds left. I didn't need them I was just hoping they could be had.
I'm not an EBAY expert, but next time I'll wait until 10 seconds left to place my max bid...
I'm going to be within 15 miles of where they are located this weekend, so it would have been a convenient pick-up for me...
Oh well... I have a factory set in my "next project" already... (see below)

Re: missed out on buddy buckets...

kind of like tow hooks, i used to buy those seats for 75.00 or less-hell, i once traded a bench seat straight across for a set of buddy buckets. my neighbors brother was helping her move in his 67 GMC so i asked if he was interested in trading-i even offered him some cash too, which he refused- and he said he would trade as long as my bench was in better shape than his seat. the last set i bought out of a wrecking yard cost me 75 bucks with good original upholstry.
sorry you missed out on those but keep your eyes open and don't be shy about asking someone if they would sell/trade their seats for a bench+cash. sometimes it works out for you.

Re: missed out on buddy buckets...

You've been sniped. Waiting until the last second gives the high bidder a false sense of security (unless they're wise to the game) and doesn't give anyone time to incrementally drive up your bid to see where your max is. Gets you in the game, but doesn't artificially drive up the price (much) with proxy bids. Learned this the hard way - been sniped and also had someone drive my bid up to the brink of my max, which was way high (so I wouldn't get sniped). It might be worth emailing the seller to let him know you're still interested in case the buyer renegs. And let him know you'll be in the area.

Re: missed out on buddy buckets...

I usually use www.auctionsniper.com for the things I really want. I put in the max bid that I'm willing to spend. you can adjust the time you bid is placed, like 5 seconds before the auction ends. There is a fee, but sometimes it is worth it, so you are not sitting at the computer hitting refresh every 2 seconds.

I bid as well. But I didn't get far. I just did not need them at this time. As far as bidding goes, just bid what you are willing to pay and don't get caught up in the biding game. If some one wants them bad enough they will pay. Emotion will cost you. They were for sale once they will be again.
