75 GMC Bucket Seats

I recently bought a 75 gmc that HAD bucket seats when new, but they have been replaced by a bench seat. Does anyone know where I could find the seat brackets. I hope to find some seats in a similar model blazer or suburban, but I know the brackets are not the same. Additionally, if anyone has any low back seats I would be interested. I also need a console with the seat belt holders. Did the blazers that same model have the same consoles? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
The truck is a high sierra, half ton, swb, 454.

Not sure about the seat belt thing, but I know you can get the brackets off of ebay. I've seen quite a few on there and bought some once.

Re: 75 GMC Bucket Seats

The pickup truck bucket seat brackets are pretty rare and hard to come by. Your best bet will be local salvage yards or Ebay...with the salvage yard being a better possibility (the more remote the yard is, the better chance IMO). I have rarely seen them on Ebay. For your '75, the correct center console will have cup holders, not seat belt holders. Finally, if you haven't seen this already, visit 73-87.com and check out this article, might help a little.

Not true. The cup holder console insert didn't come until shoulder belts were standard. 75's still had lap belts so they also still had the buckle holder in the console. Here's a pic of the original console in my 75 Gentleman Jim.

Welll, I guess I learned something new. I thought the inserts changed with the new bodystyle. Thanks Joe.

BTW - I haven't forgotten about the bucket seats. They are all wrapped up in plastic, ready to go...just have to find some time to bring them down to Greyhound.

Re: 75 GMC Bucket Seats

Thanks for the info. I have not picked the truck up yet, so I really dont know for sure what is missing. But I know it has a bench in it now, and the option tag on the inner fender says bucket seats, so I will keep looking for all the parts I need. Yes, my truck only has the lap belts, so the console should have the belt holders. On your gentleman jim, does the console have gmc on the lid? All the ones I have seen on ebay have had the bowtie.

Here is another console I have from another Gentleman Jim (I needed the seats, the wrecking yard in Montana threw in the console). You can just make out the GMC emblem. They are out there, just not too easy to find.

Re: 75 GMC Bucket Seats

I found the original seats that came in the truck, with the seat brackets. The guy who had the seats had given the console away. But he just gave me the seats, so I got lucky on that deal.

The truck is a '73 not a '75. At the time I was guessing on the year. I just wanted a swb 454 with buckets. The restoration is underway. The truck is completely disassembled, and ready for blasting.

I will post some pics of the truck, and the options tag as soon as I can. Does anyone have any swb half ton 454 trucks they are restoring?
