Re: My cheap slots

Are they worth saving??? I've got a set in the back of my garage I took off my 69 because the tires constanly needed airing up. I was told that was a problem with the aluminum mags.

Maybe I need to clean them up and put them back on my truck.

There were 4 8 luggers on Kansas City craigslist about a month ago, I would have bought them but I just bought a set of new takeoffs. They were 16.5". If they come back up I'll try to let you know.

I just watched a set of driver quality ones (16.5 8 luggers) go on ebay for $450!

I have a set on my truck now...I think I'm gonna swap em out

My brother's car had real deal centerline auto/drags and one did have a slow leak, the new owner did something to it to get it to stop. I like the look of slots on 48 to 72 chevy/GMC pickups. I'd put in tubes if I had to.

Re: My cheap slots

a 5000 rpm grinder with a cutting wheel and jewelers rouge will clean them up nicely with a great shine

Re: My cheap slots

Reminds me of my 2nd set of custom wheels. Polished ET IV slots. Spent many an hour rubbing on them with a cotton cloth and Happich aluminum polish. They didn't have clear coating back then.
