Gear ratio and codes?

Later in the day I will be opening up the front and rear dif. to change the fluid. I have really, really never known for sure the exact gear ratios for front or back. Today is a good a day as any to finally find out. Any recommendations on how to get it done.

Ohhh... what kind of codes should I look for and exactly where should I find them?????

ratios

when you pull the covers the ring gear will be stamped with numbers.. for example....41:12.. just divide 41 by 12 = 3.42 . just divide the bigger number by the smaller number and this will give exact ratio. hope that helps, kevin
