1967 Pacesetter sale

I apologize if this has been covered before, but I can’t seem to find a lot of information about this promotion other than what’s on this mailer. It does seem that there was also a 67 Camaro promotion that sort of hinted at that year’s Indy 500. My question is were some of the same ideas aimed at pickups as well? I’ve seen the photos that show some official trucks from the track. The C10s are white, and appear to have red interiors, like my 67 does.

Re: 1967 Pacesetter sale

I have nothing to offer other than there are a bunch of pictures on the interweb of the 67 Indy 500 and a couple of them show 30 to 40 Chevy Camaros and pickups all lined up at the event. The Indy 500 pace cars all had blue interiors.
Maybe this was a local offer seling the used trucks after the race?

Re: 1967 Pacesetter sale

From all my finding, '67 was the first year GM started bundling popular pickup truck options together and promoting them with special names. This gave the buyer a reduced price than when ordered separately. Usually done at mid year to boost sales. Later years we saw the Highlander A, B and C packaged options.

Amazing how 50 plus years changes things. Heavier was a good thing for the "New for 67 Camaros"!

I've seen the same photos. The C10's had red interior, but they also had full wheel covers. At least the ones I saw.

You're correct. I have a 72 ordered with the Highlander trim package, but wasn't a promotional pickup. A few 73s got the plaid seat as well. Would love to own one someday.
