Well guys i got a 350 and want sum more power. What all do i got to get to make it a 383 stroker? Is their a package i can buy that has everything i need? I got a edelbrock air gap intake and an edelbrock carb, 650 cfm i think. Can i use this back or do i need a bigger carb? Also do i need to change my cam and lifters? Thanx in advance.

Re: 383 dreams

All the stuff you have will work fine. There are plenty of kits out there that can be used. You will have to notch your block for clearance for the crank and some rods. You will also have to check for rod to cam clearance. Some kits require the use of a small base circle cam, but it is not always the case. I am going to give the block clerancing a shot. I have all the tools neded for it and I will throw my block on the stand and go at it. The machine shop quoted me $250 to clearance the block. I will have a thread started once I start working on the block. I got my kit from CNC Performance. It is balanced, All new eagle crank and rods, and hyper pistons for $715.
