350 to 3 speed siginaw, i know there is a lot of people that have done this, but hte question is what clutch and flywheel do you use? and the 350 is a direct bolt on to the origional bellhoushing in trying to go from a 230-to 350

Welcome !! I think you mean 250 6 cylinder to 350 v-8 If this is true I would try to find an 11'' flywheel and clutch. One thing to note is with the v-8 in it the motor will set close to the firewall because of the motor mounts . It will work however . If you use the proper mounts for the v-8 that moves the motor foreward and you have a driveshaft that's too short . I hope this helps you out . I'm sure some of the others will chime in on here and tell you if I have forgot or missed something . Good Luck and get us some pictures of your truck !!! Bob

The 250 6 should already have the large 168 tooth flywheel and 11" clutch. Basically you can use the whole works from the back of the 6, flywheel, disk, pressure plate and release bearing and the starter. And yes, bellhousing pattern is the same, GM made things easy for us.

its a 1965 i guess i posted it on the wrong topic thread but man i think its a 230. so a standard 11" fly wheel and clutch nothing special.

Yes, an 11 inch flywheel is what I use on my 68 GMC. I took the saginaw out of a 70 Chevy and used the same flywheel and clutch that was on my 250 engine.

Welcome to the board... And as you noticed, when you post there's a lot of misinterpretations unless you give specifics..

But the answer is the same. 11 inch flywheel and clutch assembly. I used that combo on my 69 chevy before I converted to 350 th.

Addition: On my 68 with 250, I used the saginaw off a 70 350. I kept bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, etc. So, unless someone else chimes in with a different answer, you should be able to use the same parts from your 230...
