what to do what to do

so there was a guy holdin parts for me for about a year.... I was going through a divorce, so i havent been able to work on the blazer. Well now that i am i talked to this guy the other day and he wants to sell me the whole thing (his blazer) for 400 bucks. He was just parting it out, but there are a few things i want off of it and so i am thinking about doing it

my question to you guys is would you take a junker and use what you want and part the rest out

or would you just grab what you wanted and leave the rest?

The reason i ask is cause i know there are some pretty desireable parts on his and i think i may be able to make my money back... but i am not sure if it is worth the time and effort i will have to invest.

for instance it has a really decent front windshield frame which i know usually is desired... it also has the bedsides in decent repairable condition it has a pretty decent floor in it and the dash is uncut, even though i may take that for myself plus it has the dana's

so what would you do take it and part it or just take the parts you need?

oh yeah i got to give this guy an answer tonight cause if the deal does go down i am brinkging it home tommorrow!

If I had the room for it I would buy it...take the parts that I need and sell it for the same price....or you might find someone who is willing to pay more depending on how the tub and the bedsides look.

For $400 bucks I'd grab it and then decide what to do with it.

Re: what to do what to do

- buy it for $400 - pay $25 to be a site supporter and sell the rest here.

If you look at the FS section - Blazers and Jimmys get hounded for parts left and right.

I could use a spare windshield frame and a few extra parts - hint hint

Re: what to do what to do

yes, I would be interested in another windshield frame as well since I found another blazer i am considering and it could use one.

Buy it. Take the parts you need, sell what you can and then sell the rest for scrap $ and I'm sure you'll come out ahead.

Re: what to do what to do

so i bought it and unfortianately the windshield frame has been sitting for a year out in the nice pacific northwest weather and is no longer in decent shape. the bedsides are repairable but they need some work too... i am going to end up taking the two blazers i own and create one good one. The doors are nice the tranny is a 350/205 which i will use cause it was rebuilt less than a thousand miles ago and has paperwork documenting it being rebuilt last year. the seats are in decent shape just need recovered but they are the utility bucket seats which i was wanting. i didnt get a tailgate or a grill or a top but everything else. so not a bad deal if i say so myself... i am sure i will get the parts up soon i just have to figure out how to subscribe first and then figure out what i got that i wont be using.
