1956 Interior

I have a '56 with a 396 "Rat" on a 4x4 Jeep chasis and am getting ready to do the interior. I would like to get a newer style seat that would fit. I would like to see some pics of what others have done.
Thanks

Re: 1956 Interior

Some have used the 88 -98 chevy 60-40 seats. I've got one out of a 80's dodge full size truck. I did cut it down 4" just so it would look stock. It did fit with out cutting but the cab was full.

causeofhim, Welcome to the board. You might want to check out OrrieG build thread. There's a lot of good build info there. He used rear seats out of a newer vehicle. He's a cool guy, and knows his sh!t. Once again, welcome. Let's see some pic's of your ride.

Re: 1956 Interior

After looking at lots of options I chose 3rd row 07 Yukon seats (I think 02-current will work). My reasons were 1) shoulder belts integrated into seat so no cutting up the cab to mount them; 2) lap belts for center person, small I assumed it would be a grandkid; 3)50/50 split, the backs fold down flat, and if you build the frame like I did they snap in and out just like Yukon and seats can be tilted to get to stuff under the seat like CD changers, guns, tools, etc. Look in the Blazer section on this site, lots of guys use them as second row seats. 4)They are a little on the thin side, but I'm a relative small guy. Also if you have conflicts with the steering wheel vs belly you can gain a couple of inches.

I also made my frame adjustible because the seat is fixed, no track or tilt.

If you look at message no 69,98,99 & 119 of my thread you can see the details the seats look like this: These aren't mine, I lucked out and got a set in grey leather.
