I don't know about less work, but around here its waayy cheaper and easier to get a longbed truck than a shortbed. I plan on going the same route, but I may shorten the bedsides too.

Im a welder & fabricator. So shortening the frame is easier than swapping all my stuff to another frame. Motor, cab, frontend, suspension...thats a lot. Longbeds are easier to come by here also...

I was considering shortening my bed but this was way cheaper & easier & my pass bedside is not too nice.

I just have to decide on the floor. The new stuff is wood floor & my old bed is metal but needs a bit of rust repair. Thinking of seeing if a newer bed floor will work with not much hassle...

Nice find. What is the advantage of a short bed? Certainly not for a work truck.

I got it so cheap I couldnt get to the ATM & his house fast enough. He lives a few mins from my shop...
