Another misrepresented Blazer

Look at this Blazer on Ebay..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-...item2c592ad0fc

The description reads "All original" a couple times but when you look at the pictures you can see Ochre paint beneath the peeling red around the body tag picture and the suspension is covered in red over spray!! Doesn't anyone list anything honestly anymore?

Wrong wheels, wrong steering wheel, trailer hitch, air cleaner, am/fm/cassette radio, overspray, the ochre color showing around the VIN plate, not sure if they came with rollbars installed (?), electric trailer brake controller.....

Oh, I sent the seller an e-mail about the wording "ALL ORIGINAL"

Re: Another misrepresented Blazer

Did blazers ever come with a choke on the dash (I assume that is what the extra knob is below the wipers).

Re: Another misrepresented Blazer

"A nice restoration with some minor upgrades here and there" would be a better description than "All original".

could be a throttle cable, if are years came with a manual choke, wouldn't we all have a choke delete plate in that location? Not sure...

Good for you for calling him out! Did you receive a reply? Probably not, I'm sure they don't like being called out and you're right so there's no way to explain it away other than to admit they're "exaggerating". Doesn't seem to be affecting the sale though, price is almost 12k with 33 bids.

Definitely a throttle cable. Mine had one prior to teardown... thinking about putting one back on.

That's funny because someone went through a lot of effort to change it over to red (firewall, dash top, dash front, rear wheel wells) but then to do poor prep work in the door jambs and to have all that overspray under it.... I don't get it. If you're going to make the effort, then go all the way... don't half ass it. Not my truck, though.... the guy or gal can prep and paint it however they want. I'm just one less person interested in buying it because of those blems.

Re: Another misrepresented Blazer

Over all, a nice truck. Just not All Original. Bet you could get hundreds of people at any given car show to swear it is though. Rallies just look so good on our trucks that they SHOULD have been original. I do hate the over spray on the suspension. Still nice truck, just not for that price.

Re: Another misrepresented Blazer

HA....the Blazer is back on Ebay with a new description...

"You are bidding on an a 1972 Chevy K/5 Blazer. It is immaculate inside and out and runs like a charm. Everything works including the A/C. It does have some minor rust on the passenger side floor board and a little on the tailgate but, nothing major. The hinges on the back glass work as well to keep it open.
It had been painted some time ago because the original body color was yellow and the top was white. You can see a little overspray on the leaf springs. The last owner only replaced the rocker panels.
We are relisting because we now have more information about the truck. Good luck!!

I would be anything the winning bidder showed up and was disappointed enough not to follow through on the transaction.
