OE am/fm stereo radio in my 84 Chevy

I have the OE am/fm stereo radio in my truck and it plays just fine but at times it quits playing and later will come back on. In other words, it stops and starts playing again. What would cause this? I know it shounds like something is loose but have no idea what it could be. Any ideas?

Bad ground is a likely culprit. Check all your wiring.

Mine does this too. Also if i tap the dash under the radio it comes back on. LOL It sounds terrible anyway so i will probably go with a retro sound, or custom autosounds OE fit radio.
