PS questions. - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm looking to do the PS upgrade and have a couple of questions.

1.I'm thinking of using 250 6cyl brackets,non integrated head.Will a 76 pump work with those?
1a.I have used pumps in both a short shaft and a long shgaft version of bracket.Does it matter which one I use?

2.If I also use a 76 gearbox then I am wondering if the bends etc on the 76 hoses will work?

3.The rag joint.Will a 76 fit my standard steering column?

4.I don't want the mushy 68-72 power steering feel but more the later one with a bit more of a firm feel.Or a variable ratio type preferably.Anyone got a part# for that gearbox?

5.Do I need the later pitman and idler arms?Or can I use the current idler and a 68 pitman for PS?
