Broken Armrest

The armrest on my passenger side is broken. When you go to close the door, the whole thing pulls away with the side panels. The little black tab inside is broke.
What I wanna know is if this is the right part. My only concern is that this says "paint to match" but mine is under a vinyl cover so why would it need painted? And this asks if yours have "gone flat" but mine is a hard piece of plastic which wont get flat.
Is this the right part? This looks like what I need but the description is wierd.

Thanks

Re: Broken Armrest

"Paint to match" means it is most likely a gray color. If you want it red or blue, or whatever, you will have to paint it to match your interior.

Re: Broken Armrest

CKResto is a good place to buy parts for these trucks. There are also vendors on this site that may be a good source.

Have you checked with a GM parts counter? Reason I ask is that I have found on many parts that are still available, the cost from GM vs. the aftermarket is comparable when you have to add in the shipping. Bear in mind, that the NOS stuff is dwindling away day by day. You may find it in the right color, or you may have to paint it to match. Most aftermarket colors are not cheap, so figure that into the equation if you can find the right color through a GM dealer.

Re: Broken Armrest

I just dont understand why it is paint-to-match because my armrest has a vinyl cover over it that is the interior color. So youll dont actually see the color of the armrest onside.
