Ordered exhaust finally.....

Well I finally ordered a dual exhaust for my Sub today. I decided to try JC Whintey as the price was unbeatable...169.83 minus a 10% discount. Shipping was under $20 to my door. this included mufflers also. The pipes are 2 1/4 and aluminized. I have had mixed results with them so we shall see. 8" of snow last night and still coming down. This should make things easy for installation! Will let everyone know how it goes!

I don't know about their exhaust but over the years they've really gotten alot better with their quality, and their return policy is excellent. DAMN snow?? we're all going to the beach for a bar-b-que today 9AM and it's already 85 SORRY but just couldn't help but rub it in

I just installed the kit from LMC. It was an awsome kit. fit great. Let us know if JC Whitney's has a manufacturers label on it. Mine came with "Heart Throb Industries" label on it and is manufactured about 30 miles west of me. Great product!

Has anyone put a mail order dual exhaust on a 4x4 Blazer? What brand? How did it fit? I've heard about gas tank interference problems.

Which mufflers?
Where do the tailpipes exit?
Do you have headers?
Thanks

Speaking of exhaust ... anyone know where i can get a kit with 3 inch pipes and rear exit duals? Been checking around, even though this part of the project is a way off yet and largest dia. i've seen is 2 1/4. Thinking i may have to go with custom.

Well i hope it's good weather for your trip. I used to go up to the Amhurst N.H. swapmeets right near Nashua [i'm originally from long island] as far as the bar-b-que that's rain or shine

Hey, Bob, glad to see the old blue thing is getting a good exhaust. Remember the problem we had with the '68? LMC and Hearthrob (read heartburn) had the first piece of pipe off the maifold sticking into the driveway. LMC took them back.

I put the LMC kit on my '72 and it was a pain in the a--. There were virtually no instruction telling which pipe went where. It took me around 5 hours of messing around before I finally figured out that the kit wouldn't work if your truck had the optional auxiluary monoleaf spring behind the coils. After I had that problem solved, it went together fairly easily then. But it would have been nice if they stated that in the catalog or with the kit, and saved me a lot of greif. By the way, it was the kit with the exits straight out the back. Maybe the kit with the stock exit locations doesn't have that problem.

you know i got my exhaust 2years ago from lmc and had the same complaint no markings on what was what called them and also wrote to them about it telling them that for the money they charged 50cents worth of paper for instructions wasn't going to kill them they responded that they would check out the problem and fix it I GUESS THEY DIDN'T but i will say that once installed it has worked very good

Yeah, you have to have the monoleaf springs removed in order for the kit to work, so you should be fine. It shouldn't really affect your trucks ride or anything, unless you do a lot of heavy hauling. One other thing on the exhaust system, if you got the system with the turbo mufflers (instead of the glass packs), the mufflers must be mounted vertical in order to clear everything (instead of laying flat like most exhaust systems). That was something else that took me a while to figure out. I guess thats about it. Hopefully for you, they have better instructions now and actually label the pipes or something. Good luck!

thanks jeffbo
as for those springs i had to take them off since i was lowering the truck, or i would ride on them non-stop. also i am not planing on hauling that much weight maybe 2 atv's at the most and that would be rare. thanks again for the heads up on how to put the system on the truck.
