Need some help BAD!!
93 GMC Sierra (3500 w/ a 5.7). I drove to work this morning... no problems at all. Get ready to go to lunch and my truck won't start. It cranks but won't start. After work, I checked for spark, no spark. So I go to the parts house and I replace the ignition coil and the ignition module. Still no spark. I start looking around trying to figure out why, and notice that I got no fuel to the TBI either. Now I'm stumped. The fuel pump is pumping to the throttle body but nothing is spraying through the injectors. Now I got no spark and no fuel. What could it be? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need some help BAD!!
Have you checked the power at the injectors?
Just throwing some thoughts at the moment. Edit_ sorry re read it. Check for power getting to the coil and module with the key on. I have gotten a bad coil before that was new. Also check the plugs at the coil to make sure they make a good connection. Last edited by scotts62; 08-19-2011 at 10:44 PM. Reason: oops |

Re: Need some help BAD!!
Try this, kinda hard to look at but could help
http://alldatapro.com/alldata/PRO~V2...47947/41862886 Also check the grounds next to the water neck (on bolted on it) and there is one on the passenger side firewall that goes to a stud right to the computer i believe. Last edited by scotts62; 08-19-2011 at 11:09 PM. Reason: added |

Re: Need some help BAD!!
Work on the no spark issue. The injectors not spraying is related to no spark.
The computer needs to receive a distributor reference pulse from the distributor module to trigger the injectors. The system should produce spark regardless of the condition of the ECM. The ECM can affect the timing but there should still be spark. See if when the key is on there is power to the pink wire to the coil, terminal 3 (C111 – 12040705), in the link Scott posted.
